Received a call from this number this morning informing me of an unplanned power cut in our area. The call went to answerphone so I was unable to get further information. I independently sourced the phone number for UK Power Networks who confirmed the phone number & call were genuine. |

The power went off and shortly afterwards the phone that don't need batteries or power rang. It rang off before I could get to it. Conundrum: How do they expect to use such a system when all the cordless phones that need power are cut off? I am assuming it was a genuine call from Power Networks but I never found out for sure. |

Called at 07:04 & 07:10 today reporting to be from UK Power Networks. The answer phone alerted me to an unplanned Power Cut in my location & suggested I press button '1' to found out the details. Did not press '1' but answer message then went on to say 'stay on the line' to hear further info. All that happened was the message was repeated asking you to press '1'. I had already decided it was a scam so hung up. Checked on the official UK Power Networks website & this confirmed it was a scam. |
