This number rang (I didn't pick up) within a minute of a 3 minute power cut being restored. Iv had these calls before, telling me of power cut & what to do if concerned or wanting more information. So recon this number is ok. |

Auto call goes out by computer immediately there is a power cut. The message will go to phone numbers on the computer database within the postcodes of the affected areas. Just make sure your energy provider has your current mobile phone number. They don't send the message but UK Power Networks who actually deliver electricity to your home will. It can solve a few problems with the message hitting landlines. Check back a few pages of posts on this feed and read them. Your energy provider just collects your money and takes a cut before passing your money on to the generators and the grid company. |

Genuine but do not press any button on your phone if requested. Just hang on and listen. Do nothing else. Phone providers can flag and block numbers as possible scam if enough people who always assume unknown numbers calling are scams report them to their phone provider or to '7726' as a scam. An algorithm kicks in and that's it. Many genuine business numbers are flagged as scam including numbers used by bank fraud departments. |

Very difficult to hear. I am deaf and use an amplified phone. Heard something about reports in the papers of energy shortages. At this stage I put the phone down as one of the gas companies has temporarily reopened gas storage in the north sea and there are plenty of LNG tankers waiting off our coast to unload. Obviously sounded like a scam of some sort. |
