	Unknown The man introduced himself as Dan, he addressed me by my first name. He said he was calling about special offers from EE as I had just upgraded my account. He asked me to confirm my full name. I said I would not do this as it was a cold call. He tried to reassure me, saying it wasn't a cold call and he was from EE. He sent a text with his name and my first name as 'proof' that he was calling form EE. I still refused to share any information and said that anyone with my number can send me a text. Then he said he would send a one time passcode (OTP) from my account. I received the code and this came from 150, which is the EE number. He then asked me to read out the code. I refused. Passcodes should NEVER be shared - least with a cold caller!. I ended the call.

	It's a company called Inspired that's a direct partner with EE who provide them with your contact details to sell you more stuff. They seem to have a lot less customer service / politeness training compared to EE staff. As others have mentioned, they don't identify themselves and push for selling additional products, which does make people feel like it's a scam.

	Aggressive up-selling / potential scam. Got a call today from this number (0191 429 0924). The caller was a VERY fast-talking, difficult-to-understand young male with a Tyneside/Newcastle accent. Didn't introduce himself or address me by name, and did not attempt to find out if I was an account holder - Unusually unprofessional telephone manner from such a large company. He repeatedly claimed I'd called EE the previous day. When I insisted I hadn't called EE, he asked if I'd called BT which I had, but did not request any call from EE. I was very suspicious of his unprofessional manner/approach. I said I'd rather call BT and hung up. I suspect this is dodgy at best, or perhaps an outright scam.

	Multiple people have commented saying its a scam, its not its actually EE but their sales teams on outbound campaigns. You'll receive these calls if you've agreed to marketing calls (may have been an offhand question when you've signed up). As for why I'm sure it's them and not a scam, I worked for BT (EE sister company) and they all run outbound campaigns at different times to try to make additional sales on the account. You can ask them to stop marketing calls however if you just hang up, they will call again. Systems are often automated.

	To stop scam/silent/nasty calls/texts take responsibility and report every single one directly onto the system set up by the police to make it easy for the public to report them: 1. Report to ‘action fraud’: Google ‘action fraud’. Go on the ‘police.uk’ site. Click on the ‘report a phishing attempt’ page. Read the information. Complete the report starting at the bottom of this police web page. Provide the number and also full details including any link/internet address/threats etc in the free typing space on the 3rd page. 2. Emails and screen shots of messaging scams eg texts/WhatsApp etc. should be forwarded by email to ‘report@phishing.gov.uk'. Only a tiny fraction of 1% of scam calls/texts etc ever get reported to the police so too few get recorded on the crime stats. Scammers love that!
