This was a silent call, I said 'Hello' a few times then hung up. I noted on here the reference to British Gas, and we did have a smart meter installation coming up. I called British Gas on the number on the letter, and they advised it was not regarding the appointment. It may have ben the billing department but they could not confirm. |

BRITISH GAS. It was a genuine call. Be warned though, NEVER give out any personal information to a number that is not recognised by yourself. This includes when a caller asks you to confirm your phone number name and postcode. Do NOT give it to any one unless you know exactly who they are. Do NOT give any bank details, date of birth, post code or anything else if you dont know who the caller is. Some scammers are very clever. This number actually is British Gas confirming a boiler inspection visit. |
