Just got a call. Asian sounding lady who called herself 'Annie Jones'. Told me that my broadband was being used by other people and I needed to do something with a computer. I asked for a reference number and she quoted me the telephone number instead. Then I asked for her office location. She told me 81 Newgate Street, London. Quick check online after the call and apparently BT vacated that property in February 2022. Definite scam. |

Didn't sound like BT: thick Asian accent, with mindless music-backing. Allegedly about Broadband. I said, the line was so bad: can you give me your number so I can call you back? Readily given was 0800 800 150, which is faintly reminiscent of a genuine BT number. But it isn't. |
